There are 152 days, 8 hours and 38 minutes until Summer 2017.

Seems like forever until the threat of snow and icy conditions goes away. Nevertheless, it means that there’s still time to get that beach body and wardrobe together for your highly anticipated tropical vacation.

Ready to start deciding what you’re going to wear?

Then let’s do this!

First, let’s set some goals because, after all dreams don’t come true. Goals do. And, if you’re wondering what a goal is, remember this: a goal is a dream with a deadline.

A goal is a dream with a deadline.

So here are a few questions to consider:

  1. Where is your tropical vacation going to be?
  2. When are you going?
  3. What are you going to do?

The answers you give will very much decide what you’re going to pack to wear. However, for the sake of time, let’s get hypothetical shall we?

  1. I’m going to go on a tropical vacation with my friends to the Turks and Caicos Islands.
  2. We’re going to travel on August 24th and stay until September 1st in a villa at one the best places to stay in Turks and Caicos
  3. We’re going to go to a live entertainment club, chill on the beach, visit the Caicos Royale Casino, attend the island fish fry on Thursday, and then maybe do a little bit of shopping.

Now with that in mind, what the hell do I wear?

Let’s brainstorm.

What To Wear On A Tropical Vacation in the Turks & Caicos Island

(1) A Swimsuit

No surprises here because a swimsuit is a must on ANY tropical vacation. I mean, what else would you enjoy the beautiful Caribbean sea in?

(2) A Beach Cover Up

Maybe while you’re at the beach, you decide to grab a quick bite to eat from an oceanfront restaurant, or you decide to stop into a local store to shop for some souvenirs – that’s when a beach cover up comes in handy! It doesn’t have to be complicated. You can purchase a sarong or a pair of crochet cover-up pants. Or if you’d like to keep in your budget, use two scarfs from your closet and style them like a dress as seen below.

(3) A Sexy Dress

Take a dress or two that is sexy for you, and wear it to the live entertainment club, casino or just to dress up when you go out to dinner. Now bear in mind that I’m using the word “sexy” in a more relative way here, meaning get something that is your personal style, particularly so you can wear it more than once after your vacation.

(4) All Denim Outfit

Besides the fact that denim adds some versatility to your traveling wardrobe, have an all denim outfit is also a good outfit idea for the island fish fry, a cool night at a bar or even an island tour. Either way, you can explore a tropical paradise in comfort and style.

(5) Loungewear

And last but not least, you need loungewear, aka casual, comfortable clothing that you can wear around your beautiful vacation rental at one of the best places to stay in the Turks and Caicos, and possibly wear when you’re going shopping. We’re not talking about sweats or hoodies! We’re talking tropical paradise loungewear like boho maxi dresses, palazzo pants, sport shorts, and maybe even some floral joggers.

Will You Share Other Items You’ve Packed For A Tropical Vacation?

The outfit ideas above are just the basics of packing for a Caribbean getaway, and more specific to a vacation with friends. However, there are multiple reasons why you may end up in a tropical paradise like the Turks and Caicos, including a wedding, family visit or in a professional capacity.

What other outfits have you packed when preparing for a Caribbean vacation?
